Is the capital regulation moving to the right direction?20 May 2015 The City of London |
This meeting will be dedicated to the future of the capital regulation. The discussion will be focused on the following questions:
- – Is the current capital regulation in financial sector sufficient to ensure sustainable growth of the industry?
- – Is it reasonable that regulators keep on raising the bar for the minimum capital requirements? How much capital is enough?
- – To what extent should capital requirements be driven by internal capital models, rules prescribed by regulators or scenario analysis and stress testing?
We will also discuss the regulators’ recent proposals on the revision of the Standardised Approach for capital calculation, reducing national discretions and introducing capital floors for internal ratings-based portfolios.
