Managing Risk of Financial Crime in the Digital EraWednesday, 27 November 2024 Central London |
Our latest Risk Sentiment Index across all three surveyed markets revealed that CROs anticipate a notable increase in operational risk in 2025, with the UK CROs ranking it as the second highest risk after cyber. This heightened concern stems from the rise of financial fraud and crime enabled by digital technologies. Simultaneously, the FCA is adopting a more punitive stance on deficiencies in financial crime controls, increasing fines for lapses within regulated firms and introducing mandatory reimbursement for APP fraud victims. At the meeting, CROs will discuss actions to stay ahead of evolving fraud tactics and stricter regulatory measures, strengthening anti-crime defences while balancing operational efficiency and compliance.
